This machine was developed to perform the cutting of damaged pipelines and the insertion of a recovery head into the cut end, to allow the recovery of the pipeline by a vessel equipment (i.e a recovery winch).

The machine can adapt its position once layed on the bottom of the sea in order to correctly cut the pipe. The recovery head engagement into the pipe is obtained by the expansion of mechanical studs.
